I wanted to do Kasanga with a full face pose and needed to give it more umph than a normal realistic lion pic. The fiery colours worked well for him and they are colours that don’t get a lot of use in my collection. Once I figured out the fire theme I wanted a title that would express that and the attitude of the lion, Kasanga is a big pussy cat but the name Incandescent with its duel meaning of the light of a fire and someone who is furious worked well for what I wanted to express.
The original was drawn with coloured pencils and watercolour pencils on Pastelmat.
